Each summer for the past 15 years, people come from all over to flood the slopes of Whistler bike park to be at the home round of Crankworx, one of the most anticipated mountain bike festivals worldwide. The ten days, which ran from the 10th to the 20th August this year, were filled tons of events and experiences for every age and the best part is: it is completely free for spectators to come and witness the breath-taking displays of speed and height.
As the 'Official tool supplier' for Crankworx Whistler, EXTREME partner DEWALT provided the necessary tools for this year's Red Bull Joyride course build and there was some serious action going on in that course.
4 EXTREME team riders were found at the event: Ethan Nell, Wyn Masters and Daryl Brown supported from DEWALT and the STANLEY backed FMB World No. One Nicholi Rogatkin.
Daryl Brown, the scrub king from the UK, kicked off the event and came an impressive third place in the CLIF Dual Speed and Style. Riders are judged on their ability to perform stylish tricks whilst bombing down the mountain at a serious pace. Wyn Masters, the king of the wheelie from New Zealand, competed in the Enduro competition having won it a few months earlier at Crankworx Roturua.

Ethan Nell was in the finals of the Whip off competition, which is the chase for the perfect combination of skill and steeze. Ethan is constantly progressing and making a name for himself in the MTB world having just earned an invitation to Red Bull Rampage.
Nicholi Rogatkin from the STANLEY team came tantalisingly close to the Triple Crown, which is yet to be claimed by anyone, in the Red Bull Joyride event on Sunday the 20th. The Triple Crown was created in 2015 and is designed to be near on impossible to claim, to earn the crown a single rider must win three out of the four Crankworx Slopestyle events. Out of the four events in Rotura, Les Gets, Innsbruck and Whistler Nicholi took 1st place both in Roturua and Innsbruck.
And now? After Crankworx, is before Crankworx and we are more than stoked for the 2018 series to kick off!
